Advice for House Painting in the Blue Mountains

Helpful advice from an experienced professional.

For me, painting has never simply been a trade – it's something I've grown up with. I began working alongside my father, a master painter, during school holidays from the age of fourteen. Those early years taught me the value of careful preparation, pride in workmanship and treating clients and their homes with respect. I obtained my painter's licence at the age of twenty and developed a strong grounding in traditional painting techniques and the standards expected of quality craftsmanship.

At twenty-five, I completed a Design Degree and moved into the creative industry, spending the next decade working as an Art Director for leading design and advertising agencies. During this time, I worked on retail and brand campaigns, interior retail fit-outs and brand development projects, developing extensive experience in colour, presentation, large-format interiors and computer-based design. The combination of practical trade skills and professional design experience gave me a broader understanding of how spaces function and how colour, finish and detail influence the way people experience their homes and workplaces.

Ultimately, I chose to return to house painting to remain close to the Blue Mountains community and focus on providing a more personal, local service. Now, at fifty-five, I bring together more than four decades of hands-on painting experience with a designer's eye for detail and aesthetics. My approach is centred on delivering high-quality workmanship in a manner that is quiet, respectful and discreet, recognising that when working in someone's home, professionalism is measured not only by the finish achieved, but by the experience provided throughout the process.
